Children’s Writing Competition 2016

Many Charlotte House girls entered this year’s Chorleywood Literary Festival children’s writing competition. The appetising theme was FOOD and girls busied themselves designing menus and creating special meals for a particular book character.

With over 540 entries and nearly 70 in the Key Stage 1 (pre-Prep) category alone, competition was fierce; we were therefore absolutely thrilled to learn from Chorleywood Bookshop that Charlotte House had scooped all three pre-Prep prizes! Rob Biddulph, author of Blown Away and other exciting books for young readers, judged the entries and was particularly impressed with the fabulous ideas and graphic representation of tasty meals for the big bad wolf, Heidi and Augustus Gloop.

Congratulations go to Mila, (1st prize) Libby (2nd prize) and Zara (highly commended) for their wonderful literary ideas and illustration skills.CWB - Prize winners
