Happy New Year and welcome back to our PE@home section where you will find many inspiring online opportunities to help you keep physically active indoors and out during the next few weeks.
‘#ThisIsPE’ is a series of two minute YouTube videos focusing on different aspects of the National curriculum from agility, balance and coordination to throwing and catching. They are free, fun and easy to follow. They can also be done indoors if it is too cold outside!
The Premier league Primary Stars website: ‘plprimarystars.com/home-learning’ is another free resource with curriculum linked activities and physical challenges for all ages. Minds and bodies will be kept active through these football inspired resources.
The British Olympic Association and the British Paralympic Association ‘getset.co.uk’ website offers a diverse range of curriculum linked home resources featuring a wide choice of subjects, interests and age groups related to the Tokyo Olympics taking place this year (fingers crossed)! Of particular sporting interest is the ‘Travel To Tokyo’ section which inspires families to get active together. Sign up for free and start logging your activity to see if you can ‘virtually’ make it to Tokyo by the opening ceremony on July 23rd!
Finally, our favourite, Joe Wicks is back helping the nation keep fit during the lockdown. He will be doing live 20 minute workouts on YouTube on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9.00am, starting on Monday 11 January. If not live, you can follow his videos later on his YouTube channel, ‘The Body Coach’.
Good luck and let me know how you get on!
Please find below details of the sports websites in question. Encourage your daughter to explore the resources with your guidance of course, and make sure she has any medication she needs to hand if necessary before she begins!
