Last Autumn, Charlotte House girls voted to turn a somewhat tired part of the school garden into a quiet space for reflection. Over the coming months, the School Council and Mrs Wildman started planning and designing the garden. Throughout the whole procedure, the pupils voted for what they would like to be included in the space. The School Council then had a Zoom meeting with an ex-parent Catty Patel, who is a landscape gardener and horticulturist. Catty very generously offered her expertise to help the girls design and achieve their Mindful garden. Both Catty and her daughter, one of our alumni, kindly donated many of the plants.  Archie Parker, who is studying horticulture at Nottingham Trent University, then helped to bring the garden into being with Mr Walsh, our caretaker, assisting with laying the stepping stones. Form Six of 2021 kindly donated a beautiful eco-bench and the money raised from the Secret Present room in the Autumn term helped to fund the whole project.

Now all the girls have a beautiful mindful corner of the garden to enjoy.
