Community Involvement

As part of our ethos, Charlotte House is committed to contributing to both our local community and to the wider community in a variety of ways. We enjoy participating in local events such as our choir performing at the Rickmansworth Winter Fair and entertaining the elderly at Signature Care Home.

We also welcome visitors from various religions to come and share their beliefs in our assemblies.

Charities

At Charlotte House we are fully committed to fundraising. At the beginning of each year we select a small number of charities which can be nominated by staff, parents or pupils and is co-ordinated by the School Council.

By supporting charities we aim to show the children the importance of helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Fundraising is an ideal opportunity for the children to give something back to our local, national and international communities and to make a real difference to the lives of others. We are particularly keen to support local charities and those with strong links to the school community.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of Charlotte House School parents, staff and children, the proceeds of these events go to the school’s nominated charities, which over the last few years have included: Jeans for Genes, MacMillan Cancer Care, The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Save the Children, Children in Need, JDRF, Herts Young Homeless, SignHealth, CLIC Sargent, ReadWell, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, Children with Cancer, Watford Peace Hospice Care, United through Sport and RNLI.

The whole school is involved in the various fundraising events and as well as having fun the staff ensure that the children understand the meaning behind the activities.  We raised over £3,000 in the last school year.
