The Arts – Drama

At Charlotte House we believe Drama is a vital tool in helping us to nurture confident, out-going girls. Drama is taught as part of the English Curriculum. The emphasis is on learning performance skills whilst developing the girl’s self-confidence through mime, improvisation, games, devised sketches and scripted performance.  Drama is also used as a teaching tool throughout the curriculum and all girls ‘perform’ termly in their class assemblies.

We have a busy schedule of plays throughout the year giving every girl her moment to shine under the spotlight!  In the Autumn Term Nursery and Reception present a Nativity play and Forms III and IV have their production.  Forms I and II perform their show in the Spring Term with Forms V and VI presenting an end of year play in the summer.

Our girls in Forms III – VI also have the opportunity to join Blag, a local theatre group who run an after school club.
