The Arts – Music

Music plays an important role in the life of Charlotte House.  All the girls from Nursery to Form VI benefit from lessons with our specialist teacher.  They are encouraged to perform: throughout the year they are involved in a variety of concerts and productions in and out of school.

Each term a composer is studied. This has been on the curriculum since Charlotte Mason founded the PNEU Schools and it is wonderful that we are able to maintain this tradition. We study a diverse selection from Lennon and McCartney to Bach!

The school has two choirs: Forms III and IV and Forms V and VI.  There is a string ensemble.

We have visiting peripatetic teachers and are currently able to offer piano, clarinet, saxophone, violin, flute and singing lessons to girls in Form III and above. These lessons incur a cost and the lessons are timetabled on a rotation system throughout the school day. All girls, including those who have lessons outside school, are given the opportunity to perform in school.

Please complete the attached form and hand into the School Office if your daughter is interested in instrumental lessons.
